Viserys II was a Targaryen prince who was born on October 7, 1068 AC. He was the second son of King Aegon II Targaryen and Queen Helaena Targaryen. Viserys II was known for his intelligence, diplomatic skills, and military prowess.

Viserys II became the Hand of the King to his nephew, King Aegon III Targaryen, after the death of his brother, King Daeron I Targaryen. As Hand, Viserys II was instrumental in stabilizing the realm after the devastating events of the Dance of the Dragons, a civil war that had engulfed the Seven Kingdoms.

During his tenure as Hand of the King, Viserys II instituted several important reforms, including reorganizing the royal fleet and restoring order to the coinage. He also strengthened the Crown's authority by dealing firmly with rebellious lords and nobles.

Viserys II died of natural causes in 129 AC, at the age of 60. He was succeeded as Hand of the King by his protege, Lord Brynden Rivers (also known as "Bloodraven"). Viserys was remembered as one of the most capable and beloved Hands of the King in Westerosi history.
